Steve works with national leaders around the world to strengthen local churches through evangelism and discipleship in and through sport.

For more than 40 years, Steve and his wife Michelle have pioneered sports ministry internationally. His work has taken him to more than 100 countries, including five war zones.

For nine years, Steve was involved in ministry at Oxford University through the historic St Aldate’s Church and the Oxford Pastorate. Steve and Michelle then continued their ministry in Scotland for six years before returning to the United States.

A two-time All-American football player, Steve had a short and unillustrious career with the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams. His chaplaincy and coaching work spans collegiate and professional football and soccer on multiple continents.

Steve is a member of the Azusa Pacific University Athletics Hall of Fame and the Oxford Saints Hall of Fame, as both a player and coach. He is the author of twelve published books and holds an honorary doctorate from Azusa Pacific University.

Steve and Michelle have been married for 40 years. Steve is also a fan of young dogs and old vehicles.
